Sheri and I decided to work together to create a web page about penguins. We made our page kid friendly and easy to read for any grade level. We researched the different penguins and made a description for each. Creating the web page was a lot of time and work. But we are proud of the final result.

PLN
On the link below you will find a copy of my PLN. Through this class I have learned many ways to incorporate technology into the classroom. I have shared the information that I have learned with other teachers in my building. I have also tried to incorporate technology into more of the lessons that I teach. My students love going onto my moodle page and my class blog. They love seeing their pictures and work on the Internet. I made my PLN using webspiration. I like that the website and found it easy to use.

Evidence of Network Participation
Throughout the semester I participated in a variety of ways. I posted comments on the projects of my classmates and I also posted comments on the video discussion board. I continued to share the information that I have learned with other teachers in my buildings. I added pictures of some of the emails that have been exchanged.

WebQuest
In February, I teach my first grade students about President's Day and our country's symbols and monuments. I created this webquest as an extra activity for my students to complete at the end of the unit during our computer lab time. Creating the webquest was a lot of work but I think that they are a great addition to a unit. I began thinking about how I could use webquests in my classroom. I would like to develop webquests to go along with the units and books that we are studying and assign them as extra credit or as a follow up to the end of a unit.

Wikki Lesson
I think that the Wikki spaces is a great resource for teachers. I like how it is organized by grade level so you can easily navigate through to find ideas of how you can incorporate technology into lessons. I posted my podcast lesson onto the ktwelve wikki to share. I think that a wikki would be very difficult for my first graders to use on their own for projects.

Google Earth Virtual Tour
On my virtual tour my first graders will make stops around the world. At each stop students will click on a link and explore that country. While exploring the country they will have to answer a question about that countries culture. The questions can be about the countries food, music, traditions, or language. I found Google Earth very easy to use. I think the my students will enjoy using this site to look at different places in their neighborhood and around the world. Creating a virtual tour would have to be done as a whole class activity. I would have my first graders list the places to visit and think of the questions to place at each destination. I would have to be the person actually typing out the locations and questions. I would post our final tour to my class blog and have students complete the tour at home with their parents.
